Macaw - Extra Large - Adult - Female - Bird - Goldie

Where do I start with my girl Goldie? First off she prefers men. It is So obvious! She blushes and fluffs and leans towards the men. She came to me HATING women. She would bite me, not come out of her cage, lunge at me when I was feeding her or cleaning her cage. She now tolerates me, she lets me take her from point A to point B, she is actually pretty good if no men are around. She is very animated. She loves to interact thru her cage. She'll sing, play peek-a-boo-(nightly ritual), blow you kisses, dance, she just loves to hang out in there with you out there. She talks the most when she is inside her cage and thinks no one is listening. She can say over 78 words and phrases! Yup, I counted! It's amazingly clear for a Macaw. But this girl is Special. When you leave the room she says, 'I'll be back!', Says 'Hello' when the phone rings. She barks, meows, coughs, sneezes, makes the kissing sound. She sings opera. We are working on the Lullaby Song and Happy Birthday. She loves to be sung to! She sways from side to side when you are singing to her. Her favorite song is 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac. It might be because it's the only song I know all the words to. LOL! With all this cute, sweet stuff comes some serious stuff too. She will need a STRONG Experienced Macaw Flock Leader. She smells fear and hesitation a mile away! She'll use it all to her advantage too. She'll bite. She'll lunge at you thru the cage and slam her beak on the bars. She'll trick you and act like she's gonna take a treat from your hand and at the last minute, she'll swoop around your hand an bite you. She can be sneaky. She likes Dora the Explorer cartoon. She likes going outside, showers, dogs, cats etc. Care should be taken around children. My seven year old is quick and she tolerates him. LOL!
