Fosters provide temporary homes for dogs for a few days to a few months, depending upon the circumstance. Providing foster care is a wonderfully rewarding and personal way to contribute to saving homeless pets. Some of the things that foster care can do are: • Help save an animal’s life when the local shelters are full. • Provide a home for some animals that don’t do well in a shelter environment because they are frightened or need a little extra care. • Provide socialization and a more normal environment for the foster dog greatly increasing the success of adoptions. • Provide more one on one attention for puppies that are nursing or need more training and dogs that need time to recover from an illness or injury before adoption.
