I was the project manager for Berth 208 Development Project. Project value $18,000,000.00. Project included new wharf, warehouse, 16 acre backland development with support utilities and infrastructure.
I continuously managed all types of Port Projects including new developments, maintenance of existing facilities, marketing projects, cruise terminals, dredging projects, roads, RR tracks, parking garages, marine facilities as well as anchor facilities for the City of Tampa on Port property.
I worked with and coordinated with the following Engineering Firms and agencies during design and construction phases: David Volkert & Associates, Inc., Gee & Jenson Engineers, Inc., Moffitt & Nichols, Inc., Turner/Kajima Architects and Engineers, Inc. and City of Tampa Capitol Projects Department.
I aided the Port Council prepare and settle any claims and disputes filed by the Contractors when requested.
I received both a (5) year and (10) year dedicated service awards from the Tampa Port Authority.
During my tenure at the Port of Tampa I advanced from Enginer II to a Senior Engineer position.
Professional Building Insoector: City of Tampa Building Department, Tampa, Florida
I achieved the requirements as a State Certified and SBCCI Certified Building Inspector for the city of Tampa, Florida. Areas of accomplishment included the inspections of University of South Florida non state commercial buildings,Private Mediacal buildings, Anheuser Busch Brewery expansions and Theme Park facilities.
I prepared several code related research papers for the City of Tampa Building Department for continuing advancement and understanding of the building code related topics. These research papers included “Safety Glazing and the Building Code” and “Concrete Construction Inspection and Placement” which were used to develop a continuing education program for both the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County Building Departments.
I received a (4) year outstanding service award from the City of Tampa Building Department for my hard work and dedication to the development of the building department.
I donated my time and participated every year in the Mayor’s “Paint Your Heart Out” program. This program utilized volunteer personnel, donated materials and paint from local vendors and suppliers for restoring the homes of the less fortunate inside the City Limits. The program was a huge success and a huge moral booster for the city image.

In 1968 I started my career as an assistant project manager at the “New Tampa Airport Facility” C. A. Fielland, Inc. had the construction contracts for several of the new airport terminal buildings as well as the new U.S. Post Office. I was responsible for tracking the shop drawings and RFI’s throughout the project under the supervision of the Project Manager.
Thereafter; I acted as a solo project manager on the company’s behalf for numerous commercial construction projects for such clients as General Telephone, Inc., Tampa Electric Co., The Edward J. De Bartello Corp., Southern Bell Telephone, Inc. and James Haley V. A. Hospital.
In 1982 I was project manager for a 130 Unit HUD Section 8 Housing Project in the Florida Keys. The Superintendent passed away during the early course of the project and I completed the project as both the project manager and superintendent.
I aided the engineering firm (Cafco Engineers, Inc.) in field activities and conceptual estimates for their design projects and design build projects when the commercial construction work was slack.
